Unlocking the Power of Breathwork: Journeys vs. Techniques 

Breathwork – it’s a term that’s gaining popularity, yet many people are unsure about its true meaning.

Does it simply refer to spending five minutes focusing on our breath, or does it encompass something deeper, like a cathartic journey to release trauma?

In its essence, breathwork encompasses both practical, everyday breathing techniques and profound breathwork journeys designed specifically for deep trauma release. It’s important to understand the distinction between the two to fully appreciate the transformative potential of this practice.


Practical breathing TECHNIQUES are accessible and can be integrated into our daily lives with ease.
These exercises range from simple deep breaths to guided mindful breathing practices such as the cyclic sight and box breathing.
They help us find moments of calm, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. They’re like little breath boosts, providing us with instant relief and a sense of groundedness.


On the other hand, breathwork JOURNEYS take us on a profound inner odyssey.
These experiences typically last longer, ranging from 30 minutes to an hour or more, and involve continuous and intentional specific breathing patterns. Within this sacred space, we dive deep into our subconscious, accessing suppressed emotions, and releasing trapped trauma. It’s a cathartic process that creates the space for profound healing and transformation.

By distinguishing between practical breathing techniques and breathwork journeys, we honor the multifaceted nature of breathwork and can carry more nuanced conversations about breathwork.
Let’s also recognize that breathwork is not limited to a quick fix; it’s an expansive practice that holds the potential for deep inner healing and growth (hence trauma release).
